"KING OF THE BEAST" is a boat with notable lineage in the sport fishing fraternity and is one of a kind with over 60,000 man hours in production.. As a designer and builder of custom sport fishing vessels "Buddy Davis" (and the “Rybovich Family”) iswell known and have a fine reputation for his wood (cold molded) hull designs and since 1986 switched to fiberglass semi-custom vessels and eventually to a limited range of production vessels. Designed to 'run' the inlets of NC the construction and design is ideal for its purpose and has set the standard for many subsequent boat builders to aspire to. She is laid out for sport fishing primarily in mind with a large teak soled cockpit, fighting chair, bait and catch freezers and custom Rybovich outriggers. The cockpit area provides ample room and convenience for the business of fishing. The main steering station is in the hard top fly bridge (custom fabrication by Rybovich Spencer Boat Wortks in 1983), a center console with radar, fish finder, and a full complement of navigational electronics is provided to the helmsman. A full tuna tower with upper helm station and buggy top was also installed at the Rybovich Spencer Boat Yard in 1983 along with Rybovich’s custom and numbered outriggers. The vessel's interior was custom designed and installed by Rybovich Spencer and provides a roomy and luxurious layout with quality appointments. The engine are custom Jackie Bivins 8V92’s producing 750 HP @ 2400 RPM, cruising @ 1800 RPM and 22knotsthe “KING OF THE BEAST” sips only 40 gallons per hour. “KING OF THE BEAST” has had two presidents and one governor grace her fishing prowess and a known fish raiser with her cold molded resonance. Over the last 16 years she has traveled throughout the Caribbean and South Florida. Presently,in search of a new owner with the passion and finances to restore her to her previous glory.
