1996 Boston Whaler Rage 18 foot jet boat for sale - don't confuse this one with it's smaller 15 ft cousins! This Rage 18 is powered by a 285 hp Ford 351 small block V8 direct coupled to an American Turbine jet drive, combining the capability of jet boats with the legendary Boston Whaler quality and safety. Freshly rebuilt carb installed, new battery, and trailer upgraded with heavy duty new tires/hubs. Wakeboard, handheld radios, canvas full mooring cover and Bimini top also included. Condition:Hull: Very good. Some cosmetic chips and crack but overall nice, solid and in good shape.Engine: Starts and runs well. Has mostly been sitting, but now has fresh rebuilt Holley 4160 Marine Carb. Hour meter shows 176 Hrs, but I don't know how that accurate that is.Jet Drive: Factory(American Turbine in WA) rebuilt steering/reverse nozzle just installed. Main Jet drive appears in decent shape and worked well in on-the-water test.Electric: New battery installed. Main sytems(starter, alternator, gauges, blower) working fine. Accessory electrical items(nav lights, bilge pump, stereo, fishfinder) are not working. Nav lights and bilge pump used to work about a year ago, but now won't come on and I haven't looked into why. Stereo and fishfinder have never worked for me, and I've never tried to figure out why.Trailer: Very good. Tires upgraded to larger size, all new hubs, bearings, rims, tires and spare new as of a year ago. Lights/wiring also are in good working order (though one running light is missing from plastic fender). more

dyma82 I once had a 50 evinrude that had a over heating problem at low speeds. I changed thermostats and water pumps several time, without any success. The motor only heated after about five minutes of 5 mph opperation.<br />I finially pulled the head expecting to find it plugged, but it was not. What I did discover was the head gasket was leaking hot combustion gases into the water jacket. At higher speed the increased flow of water would cool the motor.<br /><br />Your problem seems to be just the opposite. I know on automotive motors that incorect timing can cause overheating. I don't know if timing could have the same effect on outboards.<br /><br />Another thing. Is your 115 hp power head a cross flow type motor? If it is you may need to change the water deflector in the block. These are four pieces of rubber hose in the block that serve as little dams that cause the water to flow around the cylinder walls in a certain direction. They list for $2.50 each and should be a common idem at your omc dealer. The can become desttored and restrict proper flow of colling water.<br />I was told it is necessary to replace them if the motor has over heated.<br />Hope this helps you In I think of anything else I'll let your know.
