Go for the standard model.

The Bigfoot swings a bigger prop slower, which is more efficient for pushing heavy loads at low speeds. At planing speed it would not be as efficient as the standard prop size turning faster.

Bigfoots are for pontoons and barges, not intended for "sport" boats.

Brunswick greatly overestimated the market for bigfoots and is trying to get rid of them by pushing them in sport boat packages to neophyte boaters. more

The motor starts up just find and idles great. I give it some throttle and it starts to sputter and stall. I can feather the throttle, and it will almost get to 3/4 throttle before it stalls. If I WOT from idle it stalls. The motor will start right back up everytime after it stalls. If i put my hand over the air intake and give it throttle, it runs better and can almost get it to WOT.

Also, I noticed that the fuel tank, when vent cap is closed, rarely pressurize contrary to my previous outboard (Johnson and Suzuki). I suspect that air could penetrate in the fuel line at the connection of fuel hose to the engine.

Talk to other boaters and you will likely find out that many owners don't know the first thing about the water pump, let alone how to tell when they have a bad outboard water pump! Yet, this vital.

The dreadful white smoke! Sometimes it is bad, but there are certain instances where you can see white smoke, due to an overheating issue. Dealing with an outboard engine that is using seawater to cool it down, if there is a clog somewhere in the cooling system, the engine can heat up and turn the cooling water into vapor. Thus the white smoke. more

There are other issues where there could be carbon build up on the valves, the rings, or the injectors. This build-up is usually due to exhaust build up. This build-up can cause the fuel to improperly burn, which can also cause this. here

Have you ever been at the dock and remember seeing that one guy that smokes out the place? That is, when he turns on his engine it’s like mosquito control coming through and blasting everybody out? Have you ever wondered

If we are talking about a four-stroke, then there are a couple of reasons. A common reason is that if you leave the outboard tilted down after running it, there can be oil build up in the cylinders. Which, as the engine sits, it can leak down into the cylinder and then, when you start it up, you will see smoke! Just trim the engine up to about a 45-degree angle and let it sit for a while. That should resolve the smoking.

You got the boat packed with your gear and your best friends. When you go to start the engine, it simply clicks. Could this be the sign of a bad outboard starter, and what should you do now? As to.
