This is great information. I have local big chain guys that love to say torque doesn’t matter but in the same breath will say that feel matters….I dont’ know how that finish their explanation because i just shut down at that point. [links]

1) Players who tend to hook the ball will benefit from a lower torque shaft. Players who tend to slice the ball will benefit from a higher torque shaft.

Agreed very impressive. This one is likely to stir up a hornets nets though, this is one of those super polarizing subjects. This test shows just how sensitive golfers performance is related to feel.

Agreed with Joe on this one – However if you have the ability to get the club specs actually measured, I would say it’s FEASIBLE to determine a good place to start for your other shafts. Notice i said a good place to start – you’d still have to try and measure because of industry tolerances and secrets. If you get the torque, flex point, and CPM all measured for that magic club, and know the head weight and grip weight, you can start to paint a picture of what works for you as far as specs for each club to mimic the feel. The trick is to find stuff and measure it using the same techniques to see where it falls into your game. IT’s a long process – quite so – but if you’re really into building a magic set, you have to put the time and dollars into it. Heck, even Harry Potter had a vault of gold he spent. Magic is expensive! here

There are several constraints that cause this state. In fact, the temperature is directly related to the system’s pressure. You can measure the refrigerant’s pressure at a given temperature. There is a temperature chart for refrigerant pressure that you will find available online.

Before deciding to replace the compressor, other components that you may check are the pressure switch, expansion valve, and the compressor clutch. The switch is located near the expansion valve. Use an Ohmmeter to find if it is giving the correct reading. Also, check if the compressor clutch engages and rotates the compressor when the AC is on. Similarly, the fan also has to spin when you turn the system on. [links]

To gauge the pressure, hook up a gauge set to the AC system and record the pressures of both low and high sides. Check the ambient temperature and see if the pressures match the numbers on the pressure chart.

In 1997, the 4L60-E began to be released having received a redesigned case. This is the Later 4L60-E, discussed here. more

Versions of the 700 transmission prior to 1984 had a 27 spline input shaft, changing later for a 30 spline input shaft. The transmission typically has a 1/4" pipe fittings on the passenger side for a cooling circuit. Later versions use a pinned flare and o-ring design for these fluid circuits. here

If you run the transmission with the converter unlocked all the time it will run a little hotter. Keeping it cool is important. The advantage of this lock-up converter is increased fuel economy and decreased heat at cruising speeds. more

In 1993, an important change did occur and that was the conversion of the hydraulic logic shifting system over to an electronic one. Mechanically, the transmission's power transmitting core remained the same, but the valve body and actuation system for the clutches, bands, etc. became controlled by electronic actuators and solenoids. A Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) was used as the primary feedback sensor, which fed the PCM or ECM (vehicle powertrain computer) the data to make shift decisions. The engineering of this system is not regarded as a complication, but an elegant simplification and further improvement to this transmission. This version is called the 4L60-E (or Early 4L60-E for our purposes). more
