Founded in Lemwerder in 1907 by Henry Rasmussen and Georg Abeking, Abeking & Rasmussen began as builders of commercial sail and motor yachts. Quickly gaining a reputation for imaginative designs and quality craftsmanship, private clients soon began requesting their own yachts, and during World War I, Abeking & Rasmussen also built naval vessels – mainly minesweepers and torpedo dinghies. Since then, the yard has continued to serve all three spheres of the marine market: private, commercial, and military, and has a reputation for building high custom, award-winning superyachts.

Today, the yard has a solid reputation within the yachting community for detailed workmanship and incredibly luxurious superyachts. The modern shipyard facility is capable of building yachts of up to 125m, with a skilled team of craftsmen and women.
