The Back Cove 37 was launched in 2009 and has enjoyed an eleven-plus-year uninterrupted run resulting in more than 200 hulls. When the production molds for the Back Cove 37 finally gave out in 2020 due to boatbuilding wear-and-tear, the Back Cove Design team seized the opportunity to reexamine the 37 with over a decade of owner feedback and recent design advancements in mind. The result was a boat full of fresh details that earned its own designation – enter the newly redesigned Back Cove 372. The Back Cove 372 is full of fresh details that are tailored to today’s cruising and boating lifestyles, yet it retains the classic character and heart of a proven winner. The highlights include: A more efficient 24V DC electrical system with less copper weight, resulting in both a lighter boat and increased run time on the bow and optional stern thrusters. Cummins QSC 8.3 600hp diesel engine with a 7″ display as standard and a Volvo Penta D8 diesel with a 7″ Garmin display as an option. This adjustment is the direct result of owner preference, with more than 95% of Back Cove 37 owners opting for a larger-than-standard engine since 2009. Black windshield liner and an upholstered helm pod reduce glare at the helm. Further updates to the helm pod include new materials for better durability and stain resistance, increased space for navigation electronics Fixed-glazed pilothouse windows replace sliding windows, offer enhanced sightlines, and are complemented by a center-opening windshield with opening appliances for smoother operation. A new aft-facing cockpit seat to starboard, complete with a folding armrest and drink holder, paired with a new salon door to port with a bi-fold window to starboard (above the aft-facing seat). A reconfigured head with expanded medicine cabinet, sizeable over-sink mirror, and redesigned shower stall.

Back Cove Yachts 34O is powered by a pair of Yamaha 300’s, with optional 350 hp Yamaha or Suzuki’s. The hull is fitted with standard bow thruster and designed specifically for outboard propulsion offers cruise and top end speeds approximately 10 knots faster than the traditional single diesel Back Cove. This cockpit is meant for entertaining with an aft facing seat that converts into a helm deck U-shaped dinette or second berth. The standard 5kw diesel generator and cabin A/C below deck coupled with the spacious island berth, separate head and shower remind us that this Back Cove is still intended for cruising.

The Back Cove 39O is the fastest and quietest Back Cove model yet. Her cockpit is a fun and relaxing space with transom gates to port and starboard, a U-shaped settee across from an aft-facing seat, and a central table for al fresco dining and entertaining. Expansive storage below the cockpit is easily accessed through a large actuated hatch, and provides generous accommodations for all of your water toys and gear. The 39O offers a hard back for a fully enclosed helm deck; a unique design in this segment, which allows for climate-controlled comfort and an extended boating season with optimal protection from the elements. Her indoor social spaces keep everyone connected, featuring a galley up design and side-by-side captain and mate seats opposite a comfortable U-shaped settee. The result is a perfect space where the crew can enjoy a meal, or lounge while staying out of the sun or the rain. Below deck, owners and guests can relax in the privacy of a lower lounge and stream a favorite program to the Smart TV. The spacious owners’ cabin forward offers a queen-sized island berth and private access to the head and shower. For the crew, two single beds in the guest cabin are secluded, well proportioned, and comfortable. She has a 300 mile+ range at cruise, and a top-end speed of 37-knots with triple Suzuki 350 outboards. Optional power installations, currently being finalized, will provide top-end speeds in the 40+ knot range. The 39O hull design will feature Back Cove’s proprietary Trailing Edge Lifting Surface (TRELIS) Ⓓ for optimal handling and performance. here
