Berthforyacht has been visiting Marina Port Vell and truly impressed by the marina team's unparalleled hospitality and the top quality services provided to their clients. Without doubt we highly recommend this marina to our customers and investors as a true and serious competitor of the port on the French Riviera where berths for super and mega yachts are missing.
This announcement also coincides with the arrival of the M / Y Dilbar, the largest yacht in the world and 156 meters long in Barcelona. Delivered in 2016 to its owner, the Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov, by the German shipyard Lurssen, Dilbar is a regular visitor to the Barcelona marina and the most likely candidate for the use of this berth, due to its size.
Following a nearly 4-year renovation, costing 100 million euros, invested by a group based in England, Salamanca Group, OneOcean Port Vell recorded an 85% increase in visits to yachts over 80 meters. Indeed, the Spanish port has thus received megayachts such as the Ulysses 107m from Graeme Hart.
Attracting more and more superyachts, the port of Barcelona successfully competes with more classic destinations such as Port Vauban in Antibes and its famous billionaires’ quay, or even Port Hercules in Monaco. These new marinas, which bring together ever larger berths for yachts, but also services that revolve around their maintenance and the entertainment of their owners, experienced rapid growth in the 2000s.
The berth is located in the marina’s Spanish Quay, which offers 440 metres of fixed dock spaces. Although the identity of the owner has not been disclosed, the size of the berth suggests that one of the world’s largest superyachts could be heading to Barcelona more frequently in the future.
Barcelona marina OneOcean Port Vell has announced the sale of a 160 metre superyacht berth in a direct deal, with a lease running until 2036.
“We believe this berth sale is evidence of the strength of Barcelona as a superyacht destination and the trend towards more superyachts choosing a homeport in the Mediterranean,” he added.
