And that’s where the MAC700 comes in. Keeping all the other features aside, the design itself is enough to sell itself. But we can’t forget the other features, which are certainly solid to say the very least. [links]
We’re pretty sure you’re tired of taking in all the information.
Along with the design, the other features also complement the whole compressor package. For instance, the couplers are very solid overall, which is why connectivity is not a major issue in any way. Also, the precision of the compressor is also on point, which is a trait for high-end compressors. [links]
This is just what I have and I have had good experiences, but limited so not sure what you should expect. Also the extra tank I have to increase my capacity. Its a small harbor freight compressor that broke on the previous owner.
If you are going harbor freight what size are you looking to get? I have a much older one like this that is great. If you are strict about the $250 wait for a sale or look into the 20 gallon one. They have the same compressor on them and if you need more storage you can get used tanks randomly and add it in line. That is what I have done. I know someone that got a 60 gallon tank for free since the compressor was shot so you just have to ask around and let people know what you are looking for. here
So what's your personal experience with Harbor Freight air compressors? more
name brand compressors, if maintained will last forever. also like lanmanager said, they can be rebuilt relatively easy. It's just like a 2 stroke engine for the most part. you also have to factor in what you will run off of it, Are you running a nail gun and a paint sprayer? or are you running impacts, air hammers and other air hungry tools.
I've had the pancake and the larger red oil less. The pancake is too small and slow for big jobs. The oil less compressor is fine but the wheels fell off here
I have the 8 gallon unit. It's rated for 5cfm @ 90psi but it doesn't put out anywhere near that. It's loud and has to run often, but I haven't had any issues with it in more

I actually got a call back very quickly from someone who knew the nuts and bolts of the unit. He asked me what it was doing and knew immediately what the problem was. Said he'd send me replacement parts, how to put them in and how to empty the pressure after each use. The parts (with spares) came in about two days and they were a heavier duty springs than was originally supplied. Installed and now follow his instructions to a "T".
I also have the same Dewalt compressor and it is layout. Mine is much newer as well so just will have to live with it. As an alternative for smaller projects I picked up a 5 gal portable air tank that I can fill and take to my work bench. WAY more portable than the Dewalt and doesn’t make any noise at all. It was from O’Reilly Auto and about forty bucks.
I don't know about Harbor Freight, but the California Air Tools compressor line has a variety of capacities - and some can be had with an aluminum tank for lighter weight/corrosion resistance. I've also been impressed with the quality of the peripherals - specifically the quick release hose connections and ball-valve drain.
Wondering if others have used/recommend the HF 3 gal. 1/3 HP 100 PSI Oil-Free Pancake or Hotdog Air Compressor? These are inexpensive but may be better than the noisy Miller 2000 with no tank or gauges.

Something like this has a gauge but you’d need a different output hose or connector and maybe a regulator? more
