If you have enough sailing experience and posses necessary licences, we give you the option of the bareboat charter.
The best times for a sailboat charter in the South of France are between April and September, when winds are calm (under 20 knots) and waters are peaceful. The region experiences all the benefits of a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry weather and warm waters, but the sheltered nature of the Riviera means that stronger winds which may affect other area tend not to impact navigation here. Therefore, paired with the immaculate marinas and glamourous harbours, sailing in the South of France is truly a dream! [links]
Known for its style and class, the wealthy South of France is a haven of luxury for the rich and famous. Sun-kissed harbourside towns such as Cannes, Antibes, Saint Tropez, Monaco are a hub for superyachts and swanky sailboat charters, and with state-of-the-art mooring facilities, it really is a sailing paradise. Home to events such as Cannes Film Festival and the French Grand Prix, the crowds each year are celebrity-sprinkled and exclusive, and the shopping opportunities revolve around couture stores, with names such as Burberry, Gucci and Armani cropping up everywhere! here
Thanks to the popularity of the South of France as an international holiday destination, it can be easily accessed and everywhere is well connected with various transport links. Most people fly into Nice-Côte d’Azur Airport as it serves the most international destinations all year round, and then travel to their destination. If you need a transfer between the airport and your sailboat charter base, then contact your GlobeSailor advisor and it will be organized for you (at an extra cost).
The South of France has many things, and one of those is glorious sandy beaches. During your sailboat charter, if you’re navigating off the coast of the Alpes-Maritimes region, stop by Plage des Sablettes, where broad sands lined with palm trees, and turquoise waters will satisfy all your beach needs. Here you can also go diving or kayaking as well as swimming and sunbathing, so there’ll be something to suit every taste. If you charter a boat from St. Tropez, make sure you sail via Cap Taillat, a wild area only accessed by foot or by boat, with incredible cacti and dense vegetation surrounding huge rocks and white sands, looking out onto a sea of translucent turquoise. here

Rent a sailboat and navigate around Hyères, St Tropez and Marseille to uncover the magic of the South of France, whilst cruising along the glittering waters of the sapphire Mediterranean.

We had a Lagoon 52 for our sail out of Grimaud, France. The boat met our needs and expectations and was in excellent condition. Not a great sailing vessel but very comfortable and enjoyed by our non-sailing wives. The charter company was good. Our skipper and hostess were fantastic and highly recommend for sailing in the area. Very knowledgeable and accommodating.
On a sailing or motor boat charter, your time generally involves making short coastal passages between the many must-see attractions. If your schedule allows, factor in plenty of shore time, because some places you'll find it hard to get away from. The most popular stretch of bareboat charter territory runs 90 nautical miles from Toulon to Monaco. But it doesn't stop there. Go east to the Italian Riviera, or west to Marseilles and the Camargue.
Enjoyed the French Riviera, it was a 10. Went to St. Tropez, Cannes, Monaco, Antibes and took side trips inland to Eze and St Paul de Vence to name a couple.
Besides the blue waters, sandy beaches and sunshine, a feature of France's Mediterranean coast is the collection of quaint villages with seaside frontages that have been carefully preserved as modern development has proceeded alongside. A hotel stay here can be pricey, so holidaying aboard a boat gives you the best of both worlds. With easy access to the onshore delights by day, you can escape to your own, very cost-effective, floating hotel by night. In fact as you drop anchor or tie up along this coast, you become part of the vista those hotel-dwellers have come to look out on. Relax on board, look back at them, and smile.
While perceptions suggest a holiday on the French Riviera is expensive, with good planning that is not necessarily the case. Marina stays outside the main centres are very competitive with other destinations considered low-cost by comparison.
Yes, this is the South of France, and prices can reflect the tastes of the rich and famous who travel there. But with forethought and good advice the value of a boating holiday on the Côte d'Azur, along with the fun and excitement to be had, may surprise you.
