On their first test, the MythBusters tried walking into a pool with a rowboat over their heads, but their bodies were too buoyant and were unable to pull the rowboat to the bottom of the pool. To solve their buoyancy problem, the Mythbuster loaded themselves down with over sixty pounds of pirate gear and attempted the myth again, but met similar results. They then weighed the boat down with five hundred pounds of weights, but not even that was enough to keep the rowboat under the surface. The MythBusters then calculated that it would take more than two thousand pounds of force to keep the rowboat and the air pocket underwater, making the myth impractical if not impossible. To explain the scene in the movie, the MythBusters demonstrated that it was achieved through special effects and clever editing.

Jamie and Adam walked out into a swimming pool in Oakland pool with the upside-down row boat over the head. They made their way into deeper waters and quickly found themselves hovering -- they were too buoyant to walk along the bottom. They added more 'pirate' gear to their bodies (e.g. cutlasses and pistols) to see if the additional gear would push them to the bottom. The second run had the exact same results.

confirmed Wet sand is too heavy to escape from and you would likely drown if imprisoned in this manner [links]

Finally, they put the boat right-side up and started filling it with water and weights until it started to sink. It took 2000 lbs to sink the boat, which means that you 2000 lbs of force to hold onto the boat.

At the end of the second installment into the franchise, Disney provides the saddest moment for Captain Jack Sparrow, when he is seemingly left for dead. With the ship going down to the Kraken, everyone manages to escape, but Elizabeth Swann knows that the beast wants Jack and not the boat.

At the start, Jack Sparrow is shown sailing in and everything looks impressive as the score blasts, but when the camera pants out it showcases the fact his ship is a small boat that is actually sinking. It lands just in time for him to step onto land, but it is a hilarious way to introduce him, setting the tone for his character completely.

In Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Captain Jack Sparrow finds himself on an island with natives, believing himself to be the king. In reality, they're preparing to kill and eat him and once he's worked that out it leads to some hilarious scenes with great physical comedy. [links]

However, Jack opens up and reveals just how real things were when he started showing all of his various scars and injuries from over the years. It's something that highlighted just how much he had been through in his life, and it was an emotional scene for him. [links]

The situation is very emotional because Will is dying at this moment, but it's also a sad situation for Jack as well. He knows that he has to give up his goal and he showcases an unselfish sacrifice and he uses Will's hand in order to save his life.

Captain Jack Sparrow always seems to be able to get himself out of any dangerous situation, but at the end of the original movie when he is stood at the gallows, it seems like that won't be the case. It becomes an emotional scene as it appears he isn't going to escape this one, and that feeling is written all over his face. here

After the prologue to the ride on the bayou, riders plummet down two waterfalls and enter Dead Man's Cove - but the island that was inspired by Dead Man's Cove doesn't appear until the end of The Curse of the Black Pearl as Isla de Muerta. The skeletons in Dead Man's Cove are from the pirates who appear later in the ride, pillaging and burning a small town. [links]

The Prison Dog is perhaps the most well-known reference to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. On the ride, three imprisoned pirates tempt the dog who holds the keys to the cell. One pirate offers a bone while another holds a rope, probably hoping to lasso the dog if it gets close enough. The dog does not budge. here

Old Bill can be seen on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride during the burning of Puerto Dorado giving rum to a stray cat. In the On Stranger Tides, Old Bill is tucked in the corner of a tavern - also giving rum to some cats - though this direct reference to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride was deleted from the final cut of On Stranger Tides.

Though the Pirates of the Caribbean films have been profitable for Disney and popular among audiences, Pirates of the Caribbean was a group of theme park rides in Disney Parks long before it was a movie. Disneyland's original Pirates of the Caribbean has impressively detailed sets, props, costumes, and more than a hundred Audio-Animatronics (Disney's trademarked term for their robotic characters) thoughtfully crafted by Imagineers (Disney's trademarked portmanteau of "imagination" and "engineering"). There is a lot to see and a lot to miss on this ride, even after experiencing it multiple times. There are plenty of details for the movies to reference - and each of the five Pirates of the Caribbean films does so at least twice. Here is every one of them. here
