Virgin Islands Search and Rescue is a volunteer Organization which operates on donations from the sailing community. TMM and Horizon Yacht Charters each collect $2.00 per person per charter and BVI Yacht Charters collects $10.00 per boat towards the continuing efforts of this very worthwhile and all too frequently needed service. These are voluntary donations and although included on your invoice, may be deducted if you so choose. here
If you plan to arrive in Tortola a day prior to your BVI sailing adventure, we will be happy to make arrangements for you to sleep aboard your boat or at a nearby hotel. Sleep aboard rates are listed in the table above. Hotel rates vary, but are usually between $125.00 to $250.00 per night and up. [links]
In addition to the basic bareboat fees and those included in the table above, the following charges are applicable for all yacht charters:
There are three main provisioning companies on Tortola RiteWay, One Mart and Bobby's Supermarket. Each is located in and around the Road Town area. They all offer a good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, meats, wine, liquor, beer, soda and a wide variety of canned goods, fresh bread, cheese, frozen foods, snacks and typical supermarket items. We represent three of the most reputable bareboat companies based here on Tortola. They are: BVI Yacht Charters, TMM - Tortola Marine Management and Horizon Yacht Charters.
Our base is conveniently located in Road Town, the capital of Tortola. Our base is very close to the downtown ferry dock, about a 5 minute taxi ride. If you come into the West End ferry dock, then the taxi ride is around 30 minutes. The airport is located at the Eastern end of the island and the taxi ride is around 40 minutes to our base. There are nearby grocery stores and restaurants. more
Air travel is through San Juan Puerto Rico (airport code SJU) or St. Thomas (airport code STT) to the East or St. Martin (airport code SXM) or Antigua (airport code ANU) to the West with the final leg to Beef Island Airport on Tortola (airport code EIS) being on smaller turbo prop planes. You can also arrive by ferry from St. Thomas, it takes about an hour and you can arrive in West End or Road Town on Tortola.
