The short answer to this is no. It's not possible to make up laws even if an island is private, simply because of the fact that it will already be governed by a country. Every piece of land in the world has been claimed and added to a country's jurisdiction, which means that choosing an island should also depend on the country the owner wouldn't mind being subject to. This means that the island in question would follow the same laws as set by the country which owns it, meaning no additional laws, rules, or guidelines can be set by the "owner" of the private island. While it might seem like one whole island of opportunities, owning an island doesn't mean someone can randomly decide to build a resort or a multi-million dollar mall. Before any construction, an environmental survey must be done, and this alone costs a pretty penny - actually, more like $50,000. more

The term "ownership" has quite a different meaning when it's applied to a private island, and as it turns out, not everything is legal.

Buying a private island is an alluring opportunity that not many people in the world commit to, and many think it's only something celebrities can do. The fact is that it's not such an easy process to simply scoop up an uninhabited island. There could also be the issue of an island that's private, but comes with residents, in which case there are even more laws to follow. There's no land in the world that doesn't follow the rules of another country's government (except North Sentinel Island, which is a unique exception). here

It’s possible to build a new kitchen island and to repurpose some old items and leftover supplies in the process. For example, check out this cool tutorial from magazineyourhome which shows you how to repurpose an old washtub into the body of a cute little island. Give it four legs and a top and that’s pretty much it. You can lift the top to store items inside the tub.

Another cool idea is to build a super simple and practical kitchen island that doesn’t have a conventional design or structure. The one featured in this tutorial by Ethan Chlebowski doesn’t have a solid base with the usual shelves and drawers. Instead, it’s open and features hanging rods and hooks for various utensils, pots and pans and so on.

You can also give your DIY kitchen island an industrial vibe without being too obvious about it. For example, use metal pipes for the legs and overall frame and complement that with a wooden top and a matching bottom shelf. If you want to find out more about this idea, check out this tutorial on imgur.

You’ll need to check to make certain it’s ready to go before you put it into the fridge or into the freezer.

Actually, you can double your cutting or prep space by putting the leaf in place. When done, you just drop the sides back down. Plus, it has a nice storage space underneath.

This kitchen island looks as though it would fit into practically any kitchen. It also appears to have plenty of space to make counter space become a non-issue. [links]
