Telephone calls to and from The Bahamas can be dialed directly. Air Travel The international airport (George Town GGT) can be reached by scheduled and private charter flights from Nassau (30 min), Miami (1.5hr), Fort Lauderdale (2hr), Charlotte NC (2hr 20 min) or Atlanta (2hr 26 min) and New York and Toronto within 3 hrs 30 minutes.
The Bahamas is ideally located less than 100 miles off the coast of Florida, a few hours by boat or twenty minutes by plane.
Great Exuma Island International Airport is easily accessible on direct flights from Nassau, Miami,Fort Lauderdale, and Montreal Canada.There are several flights from Nassau to Exuma daily.

You'll have no problem flying into the Exumas from Nassau or the US, or hopping aboard the weekly mailboat: Bahamasair flies into George Town, Exuma, daily from Nassau, as do Flamingo Air and Sky Unlimited. American Eagle, Continental Connection and US Airways fly from south Florida to George Town.
You will barely have time to catch your breath before you arrive at Norman’s Cay. There, you can scuba dive to explore a plane wreck. Afterward, you can dine at a beach club. [links]
It takes only a few hours of sailing to reach Warderick Wells. Here you can relax on one of the many beautiful beaches and visit the ruins of the plantation. There are many places to go diving or hiking in Warderick Wells, and the headquarters of Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park exist there. here
The first leg of the trip departs from Miami and travels 177 nautical miles to Nassau, Bahamas. This trip takes about ten hours by yacht and in about three days by sailboat. Experience the island’s vibes once you arrive at your destination, and be sure to enjoy cocktail toes in the sand once you get there.

At barely three hours, Shroud Cay is a charming little stopover. An uninhabited island where you can spend the day exploring the mangrove river before lifting anchor and sailing to the next stopover. here
If you are fearless and a little bit crazy, this is the perfect thing to do on your Bahamas day trip from Miami. Of course, these reef sharks at Compass Cay are harmless to humans and even completely habituated, but it still takes a certain level of courage to wade in the water with a creature whose jaw is strong enough to crunch through the coral. here
This is the number one attraction in the entire country! The pigs in the Bahamas are the most famous attraction in the country. You can see them on any Fort Lauderdale Bahamas day trip or from Miami. Though, we’ve written a lot on these Exuma pigs already, so we will save the information for the other attractions around Pig Island Bahamas.
By ferry, the round trip can take up to 5-6 hours. Most of your time is spent in security checks and queues. The ferries carry up to 200 passengers so just getting everybody on board can take a while. [links]
Have some time in the afternoon? Cruise around Staniel Cay – the area’s most developed island – via the preferred mode of transportation on the island; a golf cart. Zip-around to some of the island’s best beaches.

Yes. An international travel passport is required to be able to enter and exit the Bahamas.
