If you have some mechanical skill, you can change the hub assembly yourself. Take the caliper and rotor off, then the cv shaft retaining nut, the the hub assembly either unbolts from the front or from the back. Put the new one in, torque all bolts and youre good to go.

Does your scanner have the capability to read GM manufacturer specific DTC error codes such as P1XXX. A lot of scanners including ones I've seen at Autozone only generate generic P0XXX.

To find out why your Buick ABS light is on, you need to read the ABS module's fault codes.

If your Buick ABS and Traction lights stay on, it means the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) has detected a problem. In most cases, the problem is caused by a bad wheel speed sensor.

With the ABS light on, your wheels may lock up during emergency braking, resulting in the vehicle skidding. Your car may require a longer distance for braking or even lose traction when going around sharp curves.

If you use a generic OBD-II scanner, you may not get any codes at all. When you use an ABS scanner, you will get fault codes such as: more

Protech:
Ok, the low Trac light and abs light are related and will come on together when there is an abs problem. And if you’re not using a proper scanner, And there is no ‘resetting’ procedure like you describe. If someone told to you put the car in neutral and shut it off, then restart, they told you wrong. There is not way to reset other than clearing the codes or fixing the problem. The lights are coming on due to an ABS problem, you most likely have a bad wheel speed sensor or hub bearing. Those are the most common things that go out on your car. The wiring harness to any specific speed sensor could be to blame as well, but it would need checked out by a qualified tech. more

OK thanks. I think it was the owners manual that gave this procedure. However, I will get the correct scanner for this diagnosis. The front end sway bar, brakes, and struts were all replaced within the last 6K miles. Sorry I forgot to mention that. Thanks again. here
