Need to find wiring diagram for 70 cobalt equipped with mercruiser. Wire is often run in concealed areas and at the ends where it is visible its usually bundled with a bunch of other wires.
Some types of networking cables will have enough electricity flowing through them to cause a hazard. Certain devices, such as phones, will just need the 'power over Ethernet' which means they get the electricity that is needed from the network cable they are connected to. If someone cuts into these wires, or they become frayed, they can present a risk of shock or fire. here
There are quite a few different wire color code standards in place, so it is important to understand which one to follow in which situation. The standards used will vary based on what country the wiring is being done in, and the type electricity it is for, and other factors. Learning about the different options that may be used in a given situation is essential for workplace safety.
AC power comes in many different types based on how many volts the wires will be carrying. For wires that will be 120, 208 or 240 volts, the following wiring color standards are used. It is important to note that with this type of wiring, there are multiple phases in place, each of which will get its own color wire to make it clear what it is for those working on it.
The wire color codes used are only going to apply to the actual wires that are carrying the electricity. In many cases, a bundle of these colored wires will be grouped together, and sealed within a black or grey cable. This helps to protect people from accidental exposure, and makes it much easier to run the wiring where it needs to go, especially for higher voltage situations. here
When this is the case, it is important to take the time to properly label the wires and electrical conduits to warn people of potential dangers. Using an industrial label printer, it is easy to identify every set of wires with information about how much electricity is present, where the wiring is coming from, and where it is going. here
The good news is that your hour meter is probably reading high which means the 218 hours might be significantly less. Doesn't help resale value, but could mean the boat was sitting, listening to music a lot. more
My ECU reads 214 and my hour meter is just at 300. I e-mailed Cobalt regarding a wiring schematic, so I'll let you know what I find out.. here
I think I have it (the USCG reference) in my files, but I'm not at home right now. [links]
