no my tach does not have an hour meter, in fact the tack is a 1994 model like the boat and it was originally hooked to a 90 horse yamaha jet, 1998 model. <br /><br />will the software diagnose engine troubles also.

The Pro Series runs when the key is on. The Pro Series II can be set up to run either with just the key on or with the key being on and the motor running. Like at Burger King, a customer can have it his way.
And then there were twin engine airplanes that had just one Hobbs meter. Some pilots would get to cruise and then shut down the one motor that provided oil pressure to the meter. They would fly along on just the one motor to save paying for rent time. [links]
Many many years ago when flying was cheap and I was doing it, you would be charged by the engine run time. Say $120.00 an hour. That is 2 dollars a minute, which was a lot back then. here

Some ECU's don't accurately report engine run time either. here

I have one and wanted to know the hours and it but apparently my 2001 wouldn't let the software read it, and then read about some older models like mine that wouldn't read hours so no sure it was the software falt. more
