Jarrett Bay is excited to have the opportunity to showcase two of our largest and most celebrated custom builds at this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, from October 31st to November 4th! This will be the boating public’s first official opportunity to tour our most recent flagship – the 77′ Blank Check (hull #56). Being showcased along side the Blank Check, and new to the market is the 70′ Ravaganza (hull #48). Both of these breath-taking custom sport fishermen can be seen on the Bahia Mar C Dock at slip 311 & 313.
The Blank Check, coated in a glossy Alexseal Cloud White, is powered by twin 16V-2000 MTUs rated at 2,600hp, coupled with a 3,200 gallon fuel capacity These engines are remarkably efficient for their horsepower rating and output, effortlessly propelling the boat beyond 40 knots while still displaying exceptionally fuel efficiency and range. The 77’s speed and range married with a great captain and crew has already brought several major fishing tournament victories including The World Cup Blue Marlin Championship. The Blank Check’s interior mirrors her sleek exterior with high-gloss cherry veneers throughout, which captured a prestigious woodworking award at the Veneer Tech Craftsman’s Challenge.
At her launch in 2008, the 70′ Ravaganza was the fastest conventionally powered sportfish built to date, as it showcased MTU’s new Common Rail Diesel 16V2000 2,400 horsepower engines. Designed for avid anglers to fish and travel with all of the comforts of the home and office, the Ravaganza has proved her fishing prowess and superiority season after season, including winning the 2011 Custom Shootout Series. Without sparing a single detail, the interior layout & design astonishes with high gloss cherry, granite counters and a considerable amount of inlay work throughout that give her a light, yet luxurious look.
Vicem Yachts, Turkish builders of luxury classic motor yachts and mega-yachts, has launched the Cold Molded Epoxy System motoryacht 107’ Cruiser (MY Moni). “Vicem 107 Classic Cruiser is the new flagship of semi-displacement Cruiser line. Designed for long distance cruising, gifted with extremely generous internal volumes and xternal entertainment areas, the 107 remains faithful to the signature Cruiser line design. On the inside though, it breaks away from the traditional Vicem mahogany interiors. The boat will head into the 2013 East Coast shows season with a US debut at FLIBS 2013.
“The Vicem 107 Cruiser is an ideal yacht for an owner with a large family or a heck of a lot of friends – says Gary Smith, Vicem Yachts Sales Director. “A yacht of this size can accommodate 3 couples with full VIP accommodations and an additional 4 guests in two separate staterooms (total of 10 guests), providing the discerning yachtsmen an experience that cannot be duplicated on a fiberglass vessel. With a draft of only 6’4” (1.90m), its cruising ability in the Caribbean, as well as in the Mediterranean, will provide an experience only our Flagship Vintage model can bestow on those aboard. We are very proud. It is a true testament to Vicem’s capabilities.”
Turan Ozbakir – Vicem Yacht European Sales Director refers: “the Vintage Cruiser 107 will be an outstanding boat to entertain family and friends, with interior and exterior spaces worthy of a 115footer, including an amazingly large midship, full-beam master cabin, and two extremely spacious VIPs. The giant 70 square meters flybridge is worthy of a +40 metres superyacht. Given all of these attributes, including a very comfortable crew area, as well as Rina Certification, Y Pleasure Class, it will also have great charter appeal. Those on board will enjoy the utmost luxury with a quiet and smooth ride afforded only by a cold molded mahogany hull which promise only to enhance the overall exceptional experience”. Caviglia again “Her European owner wanted a fresh, modern but warm interior, and since one of our core Vicem values is the ability to fully customize the interiors, we were able to fully meet his desires. The result is simply spectacular – our master craftsmen have interpreted “modern” by blending woods, leathers, fabrics and stones into welcoming and harmonious interiors with a fit and finish worthy of the Vicem tradition”.
Company vice president Robert Presby, 43, met me at the boat and took me on a brief walkthrough. Presby used to work for Boston Whaler in its design, R&D and construction departments, which explains the high building and quality standards that are applied to the Insetta 45. The company, which employs only seven, builds the boat using vacuum infusion and vinylester resin and PVC-coring material, Presby said. more
Mid-range acceleration was impressive, and the power steering system worked flawlessly.
Insetta is a retired entrepreneur who founded and ran a profitable electronics parts company. He is also an avid boater and diver and has a passion for offshore powerboat racing. more
The first Insetta 45 was powered with quad 300-hp Mercury Verados. The 557s made sense to Presby as a power option. “I am a believer in technology and the boat can take up to 1,400 hp,” he said. The third boat will have diesel inboards, so “we have an open mind when it comes to propulsion,” Presby said. more
