If you don't want to use what Mercruiser recommends, then use what ever puts a smile on your face.
Fact is, no matter what the oil, or gear lube, some one has already used it and swears by it, and recommends it for everything.
All of your suggestions has be "The Best" by someone, some where, at some time.
i use ph30 fram but i am going to try a longer version in napa 1060 i think but i stiil have to cross referance it as a friend gave the filter
without knowing what it would fit. I have to check clearance with cover too. MY mechanic says fram are the worst filters and he wont use them but i dont have any info besides his opinion. as far as oil any name brand as you change it pretty quick compared to a car. more
