Re: 2006 Sun Tracker Pontoon boat. SEATS HELP PLEASE here
We just bought a 2006 sun tracker fishing barge and we want to change the front fishing seats to a bench seating lay out. I would love some used ones. or something that would fit to match the other seats. sun tracker has no online catalog and I live three hours from the nearest deal. does anyone now of a salvage boat place or where I could buy some Knock off seats.. i've tried ********, and many others on here. starting to feel like I made a mistake buying the boat. I really want the front bench seats and not the small little fishing seats that it comes with. if anyone has any tips where to buy any inexpensively I would really appreciate it.
Best chance is took look on your local craigslist if you want used ones. They usually go quick though, sicne new furniture is expensive. Good shape used stuff is hard to find. I think you will have allto of trouble trying to locate a person selling seats of out of the same model boat as yours.
Maybe go with something neural that blends in [links]
Re: 2006 Sun Tracker Pontoon boat. SEATS HELP PLEASE
Others more knowledgeable than me will chime in. but from my short pontoon career I can tell you there are online aftermarket suppliers for what you want. I've seen them.
Ultimately I became frustrated with wife and friends fussing over dropping anchor while I drove the 'toon. I spent $115 to purchase a powered anchor winch that also has a remote control. Now all I need is someone to attach the anchor and set it over the edge. I can drop it while holding the 'toon in position from the driver's seat. more
My first approach to anchoring was to install a cleat close to the bow door. You should have enough (3-4") flooring to mount a cleat of your choosing. Or you can mount it on the hinge side of the bow door where it won't be a tripping hazard. My door has 6" of clearance under the door. here
I have a 21' Sun Tracker with the same configuration. The "U" bolts are not strong enough to tie-off an anchor, one of mine began to fail within six months. I believe the "U" bolts allow too much leverage to ever hold an anchor over the long haul.
I mounted my winch just inside the bow door and to the side. The guide pulley hangs about 3" over the edge of the floor. It is not perfect, but it works for us. If you are interested, let me know, and I will take some pictures next weekend. Good Luck!
