Pretty loud, and ear piercing and feel certain it came from inside our house, although all the windows are open so maybe from outside. I don’t know. [links]
I immediately thought smoke alarm, Went downstairs and no smoke, to fire, and the alarm was still quiet. Checked all rooms downstairs, silent and no smoke or anything.
Out of the blue I hear 3 or 4 high pitched beeps, followed by pause, followed by 3 or 4 more. Then nothing more after that or since. here
I feel sure our smoke alarm has a slightly lower pitch to it anyway. this was really high pitch. Happened twice and nothing since. here

However, if the computer beeps and Windows doesn't start properly, a more serious hardware problem exists. here
It is normal for the computer to make one or two short beeps during the startup process or during a BIOS update. Let the process continue and do not interrupt it. here

I have been wearing a hearing aid in the right ear only for years. Left ear is beyond help,practically deaf.
I don't know what to think, it's either quite a rare tinnitus or 'guides' trying to communicate with me. These are the only explanations I can find on the web.

Update #1: Contacted Tivoli directly and they sent a prepaid return label and will be fixing the known issue with this model. The Tivoli representative said that the issue is not present in all units so they are dealing with it on a case by case basis rather than do a recall. The company I bought it from through Amazon provided the Tivoli contact info but little to know reassurance to me. Zero customer service, the issue was just passed off to the manufacturer. here
Beautiful but have to return it. The radio makes high pitched beeps. When I revisited the reviews here I see many people complain about this. The unit would only be useful as a clock or Audio-in speaker since the radio beeps are so distracting. [links]
Update #2: I received the radio back from Tivoli and the problem is fixed. I am glad I went through the process because it really is a sweet radio! The radio itself is a 5 star product. The need to exchange the unit for a refurbished one lowers my overall review to 4 stars, the process was made very easy by Tivoli but still a hassle. here
