Yes, BoatUS will dispatch a towing service to assist with the retrieval of your trailer.
If the owner of the boat is present, regardless of who is at the helm, the owner would be responsible for having the appropriate towing service, not the guest BoatUS Member on board. BoatUS towing provides for any instance the Member is considered the Captain and responsible for the care and control of the boat. more
If you were towed and paid out-of-pocket, you can submit your invoice for review to Invoices@BoatUS.com. Restrictions and exclusions to Paid Services apply. Please allow 10 to 15 business days for processing.

In areas where TowBoatUS is unavailable, an authorized service provider must be used. If there are none available in your area, contact the BoatUS 24-Hour Dispatch Service Center at 800-391-4869. Once verified by the Dispatch Center that you are boating in an area without a TowBoatUS service provider, BoatUS will provide reimbursement for the first $2,500 of the tow under the Unlimited Service Level and the first $3,000 under the Unlimited Gold Service Level.
TowBoatUS is on call 24/7 during normal boating seasons. In some areas in the Northern US, the towers may pull their boats for the off-season due to weather conditions. Our 24-Hour Dispatch Center is available year-round by calling 800-391-4869 or by pushing call for a tow on the BoatUS App. The Dispatch Center will be able to check on the status of the companies in your area. more
Re: Cost Of Towing A 20'-40' Boat? [links]
The F700 was a former city goverment truck that was picked up for $2600. I enjoy the fact that it has excess capability and air brakes. In our state, a commercial drivers license is not needed for it, though I do have one. If the trailer and combination went above 10,000 lbs or the combination of the truck, boat trailer and load went above 26,000 then a comercial ticket would be needed. Your state is probably different. [links]
In my case, my 30 foot, 7500 lb steam launch is towed behind a F700. Running expenses have been the same as when it was towed by my old E350 van. Ten miles to the gallon of fuel, a quart of oil every 1500 miles and routine maintenance. [links]
And i LIKE having my boat in the driveway to tinker with and NOT having to wonder WHAT got damaged in the last storm OR got stolen [links]
distance, tow vehicle, size boat all make a difference. not many boats over 25 feet are towable, without a special permit. so the question is really illrelivant.
Dead batteries, soft grounding, empty fuel tank… Whatever the reason, your boat is dead in the water, or unable to attain a good speed and you need to get back to a safe harbour or mooring for repairs. A breakdown on water is stressful wherever it occurs, and it will certainly be expensive. But insurance coverage can help reduce the impact.
As well as your location, you should also tell them what type of craft you are in, and briefly explain your problem. more
Once you are in a safe haven and your craft is protected from further damage, contact your insurance company and find out what the next steps are.
