These are very expensive and would eat through a whole bottle of gas in a week. Unless you have money to burn, you might want to lay off the gas central heating and only use it in emergencies. more

Prices are highest during the summer months (June, July & August) when a fully catered and organised Hotel Boat week for one person will cost about £600 to £700 (UK pounds). A self drive hire-boat will be about £200 per person per week to which must be added food costs. These costs are illustrative only and will vary with standard of accommodation and service, time of the year etc. However they obviously compare very favourably with hotel prices which can cost between £300 and £1000 per person per week for average hotel accommodation without food or activities!
