Ideally, you want the weight to be as low as possible. The bunks should only balance the boat; the keel rollers are designed to carry the lions share of the load.
As for the bow eye, with the boat fully on the trailer it should be just below the stop. The reason? Because if you make a sudden stop, the bow of the boat can't ride up and over the tongue. Some tongues are welded and not adjustable for height.

Naturally, you want to make the trip more efficient. This means that the less fuel is consumed, the better. So, the best way to make this happen when towing with your trailer is to keep it leveled. Better aerodynamics means better fuel economy. here

Remember that the trailer should be further up the ramp when you are about to pick up your boat, compared to when you are launching it.

Now, it’s time to start towing. Drive slowly, below 55 or 50. [links]

It’s time to move the bow stop and winch stand back, and up or down. This will allow the yellow bow roller to touch the boat with the bow eye below and behind the bow roller. The transom straps should now be attached. After this, don’t forget to make the winch tighter, and also attach the safety chain to the bow eye. [links]

Now, you have to take the boat out of the water. Take it far enough from it to make you able to measure the transom placement, in comparison to the back of the bunk. The transom needs to hang over to 1-12 inches, and for that, you will have to repeat step 4 and 5 until it hangs properly. [links]

Then, check out whether you have the right electrical connector. Every lead needs to have power when you are using a certain action or light.

In accordance with the target bunks, put the boat on your trailer. In order to hook it up, you need to make sure there is enough winch line released. Now, the winch has to be put in low gear, and that can be achieved if you move the turning handle axle. This will allow the small gear on it to come in contact with the gear found close to the handle. This way, the winch handle can be easily turned. However, you should be careful to not fully winch it. You need around a foot to spare, so make sure you don’t winch it all the way to the bow eye. here

Americans are increasingly hauling boats and trailers for personal lifestyle use. In the past, towing was mostly comprised of workers in the construction, farming, and ranching industries. If you’re towing the family camper or a boat for a fishing or recreational trip with friends, you likely will have passengers. It is critical that you ensure your vehicle is ready for the added stress from towing by having an assessment completed by professionals.

A recent Auburn University study reported, “On average, more than one person a day dies in the United States from towing-related accidents –many of which occur because of driver inexperience.” Additionally, some disasters occur simply due to lack of proper tow equipment and vehicle preparedness. Summer is winding down. Maybe you’re planning that last family boat trip or completing a DIY move for your new college freshman? Follow some of these towing tips to ensure you are not the one clogging up the busy boat ramp or sitting jack-knifed on the side of the road in Florida’s blistering heat.
