When you remove the side panel screws, both panels can be removed at that point. On mine, the panel on the oil filter side also has the button for trimming the motor. As you remove the panel, you'll need to disconnect the plug for the trim button. A second set of hands is best but I've clumsily done it on my own most of the time. here

Every 1000 RPM’s displayed represents 50 hours. When you first start the engine the tach needle will jump to 1, 2, 3 etc, if it hits 3 it is in the 3rd 50 hours of service and so on. The only way to tell exact hours is have your Suzuki Marine dealer connect the SDS up to it and it will read out the correct hours. here
Remove the emergency stop switch lanyard. Pull out the stop switch button 3 times in 10 seconds until you hear a beep. Turn off the ignition switch and reinstall the stop switch lanyard. more
4-stroke outboards have internal oil reservoirs and sumps which need regular oil level checks, filter replacements and oil changes at least annually. 2-stroke outboards generally have an external oil tank with the oil and fuel mixture injected into the cylinder. [links]

I've got a 2013 df15a and the oil filter is the same as Yours.
can only suggest if you are going to work on the motor get a copy of the service manual
besides helping with things like this.. it outlines a fair number of routine maintenance items and hour intervals at which to do them
you may find where it is located if you do a parts review that can be found on the forum web page above
Also, be careful not to do something that will void your warranty
If You take the time to look at the way the oil drain plug is located and how the filter comes off, You can tilt the motor so that You will have no oil drips. Two different positions.
If You go to Youtube and type in Suzuki df20a oil change, it will show You how.
