you will want to make sure of the clearance and wiring access behind the panels, etc. basically you will make a series of diagonal cuts where the hole should be, like you would cut a round pizza. Make the cut diameter and inch or two less than the size of the speaker. Then you can cut off the excess in the center. The speaker fasteners should hold the vinyl secure around the perimeter. here

Yes, a new set of speakers would be ideal for beer drinking. I assume that you may be thinking of mounting the speakers through some of the side panels in the boat that are padded and vinyl covered. here

Make SURE before you cut you have clearance behind the surface you are going to mount them on and you can get wire to them. you will have a pattern with the new speakers. Tape around it well and use a sharp razor knife to cut. Then if it is a large area and loose lift it a little and spray 3m adhesive under it and push it down to hold it in place. Then use it as the pattern for your jigsaw. Make sure to start a small hole for the screws so your dull bit doesn't grab anything.

Many automobiles come with a stereo system and multiple speakers, which are installed throughout the car to create a surround sound effect. In the event that 1 or more of the speakers gets damaged or blown out, or if you want to upgrade your vehicle's audio system, you may decide to replace the factory installed speakers with speakers that you purchase separately. If this is the case, it is not unusual to find that a new door panel speaker may not fit in the old speaker's allotted space. In such a circumstance, it is necessary to make space for the new speaker in the door panel, which means creating a custom enclosure. Here are the steps for constructing a speaker enclosure for a door panel. here

I will be Installing speakers in a vinyl covered console and need to know the best way to cut the hole. Obviously a hole saw would rip the vinyl.
