If this is what happens to your pool cover, you can stop it by removing snow from the pool cover regularly. Some people decide to leave the snow on the cover until winter passes, but that is usually a bad idea. The snow can get so heavy that it tears the cover. here

Another factor that can cause your pool cover to sag is the low water level. Since there isn’t anything supporting the pool cover from below, the chances of sagging are higher. [links]

Once the leaves are off of your cover, you’ll want to drain the water. One of the easiest ways to drain water from your pool cover is with a small pump. The one we use is called a Little Giant Submersible Pump and it was made especially for draining water from pool covers. more

If your pool cover is full of dry leaves that just fell from the trees, try removing them with a leaf blower. The process is simple, but you’ll need to clean up the leaves once they are off your cover. Otherwise, you’ll find them right back on the pool cover. You can use a blower like this one: Black & Decker High Performance Blower which is also helpful around the yard when you need to blow or mulch your leaves.

Hopefully, you won’t have ice or snow on top of the pool cover because eventually if you don’t get that water off it will freeze and rip the cover and you’ll have a big mess. So the object here is to keep the water from collecting on the cover in the first place.

There are a few different ways to keep water off the top of your pool cover if you have an Above Ground swimming pool and might work on an Inground if it’s sitting higher in elevation than the surrounding area around the pool. If your pool cover is sagging and is full of water you can siphon it off the cover or pump it off but act fast so it doesn’t freeze.

Keep the center of the Cover high than the edge of the pool doing this will automatically drain any water that falls on the cover from collecting on top. There are all kinds of devices that you can buy that will stay on top of the water level in the center of the pool. Attach the Pillow, or whatever device you decide on to use so it stays dead center and doesn’t move. You can buy them any shape and size no matter how big your pool is for less than $25.00 bucks online or a Pool Supply Store.

The first step would be too walk around the swimming pool and make sure that all the springs are connected to the anchors. If all the springs are connected to the anchors then you might want to loosen some of the cover straps with you bar and then tighten and reinstall them and your cover will be tighter. here
