Here's everthing assembled and ready for the big test. here
The bullet connector on the end of the switch plugs into the coupler shown below in place of the green wire. The green wire is just the switched lead normally going to the ignition switch to start the car. If I had been really smart, I would have put a female connector on this and done away with the coupler. I'm going to fix that and simplify this thing just a bit. I'm not too happy with the quality of the female coupler anyway. here
While still working on getting the motor tuned, I decided it was time to add a remote starter switch to my tool arsenal. Rather than buy one, I decided to make one. Identify the leads of the starter relay. There will be two large connections, one that comes from the battery and another that goes directly to the engine starter motor itself. There will also be either one or two small connections on the starter relay. These are used to energize the relay that places the contacts together for energizing the starter motor.
Place the car in the "parked" position on the gearshift and engage the parking brake.
Locate the starter on the engine of the vehicle. You may have to crawl under the vehicle slightly to reach the starter motor. [links]
Identify the connections on the starter. There will be one large electrical connector that comes directly from the positive side of the battery and a small connector that comes from the ignition key.
