Georgia does not have a title requirement for boats but you must register them through DNR. here

A Georgia boat/vessel bill of sale serves as evidence of a vessel’s purchase and sale between two or more private parties, typically a buyer and seller. The bill of sale documents everything from the vessel’s identifying information, such as its HIN number and make/model, to the vessel’s agreed-upon purchase price. A new owner will be required to present a bill of sale upon registering the vessel under their name with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

When selling a high-value item like a boat, it’s important that you are reaching the most qualified audience. Research shows that paid classified ads generally deliver 10 times the exposure of free ads because they offer more options for marketing your boat - including guaranteed exposure, longer run times, larger ads and photos and videos. Further, paid classifieds make it clear to potential buyers that the seller is serious about selling their boat, and as a result, consumers feel more confident in their shopping experience. here

I sold our cruiser faster than I expected to on Boat Trader. I chose the top package and it was cool to see my boat on the homepage of Boat Trader. It must have worked because our boat sold in less than a month!

Once you’re happy with (or aware of) the boat’s condition, you’ll need to decide on an asking price. Whether you’re hiring a broker or not, you’ll want to have an idea of the value of the boat. here

Consider if it’s worth fixing anything a surveyor could spot, especially if you think it could scare a buyer away.

That said, if there are small things that will take a few days and a few hundred bucks to replace or restore, go for it. The better maintained the boat is, the higher the purchase price will be. First impressions are everything. Show the buyer that you have taken exceptional care of the boat. more

Beware: buyers will always try to negotiate you down. Even if you state it’s a “fixed price”, people will offer less. So when setting your asking price, make sure you leave yourself room to negotiate. If applicable, also take into account the broker’s fee. [links]

If you’re going to sell privately, you can start creating an ad once the boat is ready. Make sure to be comprehensive. Mention all the important gear on board, so people can get a good idea of what’s included in the price.
