The Mariner 4 has multiple inflation valves so that you won’t have to spend all day trying to inflate your boat. More importantly at the end of the day when you just want to go home or back to camp, you’ll be able to crank all the valves open. Soon you’ll be on your way since this boat deflates very quickly.
Your Mariner 4 will be made from the highest quality materials. The PVC exterior has three separate layers giving your boat the strength and flexibility you’ll need for many years of boating.
If you’re worried that the Intex Mariner 4 is missing some item that makes it an absolute deal breaker, don’t worry. There are tons of ways to upgrade your Mariner 4 with modifications. here
If you can budget it, I would recommend at least a 50lb thrust motor. more

Minn Kota is a USA based company. Their Endura series trolling motors are similar to that of Newport Vessels’ X and NV series, but with fewer features. Most importantly, their motors in this price class are for freshwater use only. They do have saltwater ready motors, but those are way more expensive.
The Endura Max motors are a bit more expensive though and are not saltwater friendly, check out their prices on Amazon.
Other than that, these boats are pretty much exactly the same. They’re both made with the same durable PVC vinyl, they both have all of the same accessories, and they are both great in the same types of conditions. [links]
There’s nothing quite like having an inflatable boat.
Not only can a motor take away needing to paddle in the lake, but it can also make much easier to control your boat if conditions start to get rough. Though you shouldn’t be taking the boat out in chop, if the water gets a bit uncontrollable, you can easily flip on your motor to get back home. more
The noticeable difference, like with the Excursion 5 comparison, is that the Mariner 4 is bigger than the Mariner 3. The Mariner 3 has only two seats and a 3-person, 660lb capacity. It is undoubtedly better for smaller parties or solo fishing trips in that regard. [links]
Right off the bat, the first thing that you’ll notice is the Intex Excursion 5 is bigger than the Mariner 4. The Excursion 5 can fit up to 5 people with the 1,000lb capacity. All in all, it is a much bigger boat and harder to use unless you have a larger group to roll with. here
For the things mentioned above, as well as the comfort and seating capacity, sturdy keel and hard floor, and ability to modify/upgrade, we have to give the Mariner 4 an A+.
If you like to night fish Like I do, I also Highly recommend a fish finder with GPS.
There have been Many a Night where I was in some Major fog, and I was able to drive back to the boat ramp with pretty much No visibility. I just followed the trail that I had plotted via GPS mapping and I'm safely back at shore. here
Doing a custom floor also lets you really install Bass seats too, and you can even put in pole holders if you want. more
The beauty of this little boat, is that you can get it without spending a lot of money, and in no time flat your on the water.
Then If you want to spend a little time, you can you also improve your mariner to the point where if feels like a different boat.
Plus I Love the fact that I can have a 11 foot boat, Trolling Motor and 6 Hp outboard in the back of my Chevy Metro and still get 40 MPG !

The Custom Floor also allowed me to Make a Custom Motor Mount.
The Motor Mount is Bolted to the custom hard Floor of the boat and it also keep pressure off of the rear tube.
This way the motor is pushing on the floor and not the rear tube. more
