St Lucia is a Caribbean island that’s great for divers of all levels, and one of the most popular destinations in the region. here
But for many, it’s hard to go past the dive sites at Salt Cay. Located right next to the Columbus Passage, during January and April this is one of the best spots in the Caribbean to see humpback whales as they migrate north. For divers, it’s a truly breathtaking experience.
You can fly directly into Roatan, which is much easier than flying into the mainland and taking a ferry, which is notorious for making its clients seasick. here
An American territory, Puerto Rico is a group of islands that offer a variety of great diving in the Caribbean with caves, sea walls and beautiful coral reefs. For this reason it’s also a great option for beginner to advanced divers. here
More advanced divers in Punta Cana often want to visit the Monica Wreck, a wooden railway cargo ship that sunk in 1924. With a depth at 10-12 meters at good visibility divers can explore the remnant rails and other equipment that were meant for a sugar plantation in the remains of the ship.
The Bay Islands of Honduras are one of the most popular places to scuba dive in the Caribbean. Utila is considered the less expensive compared to sister Island Roatan, but both offer fantastic opportunities. here

From the USA to Argentina, the American continent offered me some of my most intense experiences such as scuba diving in the Great Blue Hole in Belize, the cenotes in Mexico, the crater of a volcano in Hawaii, with whale sharks in Honduras and with sea lions in Argentina. While the Caribbean Islands attract most of the attention of the holidaymakers, the colder waters are full of bucket list dives as well. Diving in Mexico is one of the best in the Americas with famous diving spots such as Yucatan peninsula, Cozumel Island in the Caribbean Sea and Baja California on the Pacific side. The most famous dive sites are the cenotes of the Riviera Maya and Cabo San Lucas at the southernmost tip of the Baja California peninsula. Mexico is a great destination for scuba divers who love cave diving and shark diving. A little less known, you can also give a try at diving in Acapulco or Puerto Escondido on the Pacific side, and Banco Chinchorro in the south of Yucatan. more
Best diving in Florida:
Bloody Bay Marine Park on Little Cayman. It is not one dive site but about two dozen. The best sites are along Bloody Bay Wall. This wall starts at a reef that is just 20 to 25 feet deep. Once over the edge the wall drops to over 1,000 feet. It is considered the most visually spectacular wall in the Caribbean. The wall is home to very colorful sponges and healthy corals and all the marine life such a set up will attract. The site routinely has 200 foot visibility.
The diving is great year round in the Caribbean, something that is promoted with the dive 365 program. However, the Cayman Islands can be impacted by hurricanes primarily between June and November. more
