This is a year 2000 Johnson outboard. I bought it used in March 2021 with a 22 foot boat that I love. I am not however mechanical with motors. I took it to the lake one time, it was in the water 15 minutes tops. At the lake It would start just fine it would idle..go. forward and reverse. The bad is it would only stay running if I kept the choke engaged. And if I tried more gas it would stall. I could restart it no issues but it was limited.. My buddy said maybe it's a fuel pump issue or carburetor adjustment issues. He did not offer to fix it for me. I don't know how to do any of this.. I'm not the guy to work on it. So I bought a new motor in Phoenix. The Bass pro shop has pulled this motor and the controls. They have placed it all on a pallet. I bought it down to Tucson. Per the guy who sold me the boat. "The motor has a newer powerhead on it and I was told that the lower unit was recently redone." There isNice stainless steel prop. This is a great deal for someone who knows motors.
