With water, the safe maximum run time is maybe 2 minutes. Your pump bearings, thru-hull bearing, and driveshaft seals will start getting hot when run out of the water, and the hose water will not cool them. here

NOTE: The Bad Attitude Racing CDI uses a high efficiency, high output ignition coil. The spark plug wires must be connected to either grounded spark plugs or grounded spark detectors. Using resistor spark plugs or boots will damage the CDI. Failure to follow the above directions will void the warranty. Use only terminals and boots supplied with the unit. If you are unfamiliar with this type of ignition installation consult your jet ski dealer. [links]
Cut the plug wires to the desired length. Insert the end of the spiral (a) into the end of the wire (b) as shown in figure 1. insert the assembly into the boot (c) making sure the coil end of the spiral is turned so the spark plug will connect (figure 2). Use any brand of wire dryer to spay the boot for an easier fit and to water proof the spark plug wires. If a brand of wire dryer is not available, Amoral or Son Of A Gun can be used. here

We recommend using B8EV spark plugs with a .030in. (.77mm) gap. here
The following information helps to identify the causes of weak spark, no spark or intermittent spark. Check for one or more possible malfunctions: more
Polaris jet-ski has no spark, weak spark or intermittent spark refers to when an electrical discharge occurs at irregular intervals or lacks the ability to ignite the explosive mixture in the watercraft’s internal combustion engine, and subsequently, the motor fails to start up.
It’s possible that other less common reason could cause weak spark, no spark or intermittent spark but these the most probable causes. It’s recommended you also refer to the downloadable factory repair manual for additional information regarding spark issues.
