I would like to buy this film by the foot for various places on my boat/PWC.
Yes, this is common. It works great on wakeboard towers also. or any place you see needs protection and is a gelcoat or painted surface. Simply add a couple of extra feet to your order and either cut it yourself or email us and we can pre-cut it for you.

Can I install this kit myself?
We provide instructions and online videos you can download and watch the various pieces being installed. We also include our installation kit with each order. It does take a little patience and usually it's done while the boat or PWC is on the trailer so measure carefully so you get a perfect fitting piece. more

Can it be removed?
Yes. It can be removed easily without damage to the gelcoat or paint. To remove the film, you must heat the surface to approximately 150F while working a corner of the film with your fingernail. Once you have enough of the material free from the surface to hold on to, slowly pull the film from the paint. 3M adhesive remover can easily remove any residue if this occurs. [links]

We originally started with paint protection for automobiles, RV's and motorcycles. The product works so well we decided to try it on boats and personal water craft and the results are amazing!

You can try Steelflex they put it on airboat hulls. Some duck boats have Ice Runners which are pieces of aluminum angle welded to the small keels. There great for running your boat up onto the ice and breaking through to get to your blind. [links]

Basher. I've never heard of using garden hose as keel protector. I higly doubt they would stay attached by any method. As far as Rhino Lining. on the outside of the hull. DEFINITELY NOT..unless you will be satisfied with your hull going 6 to 8 MPH. You want the hull exterior to be as SMOOTH as possible. ANY roughness will cause a decrease in driven speed.
I Suggest you get an old piece of thick carpet to lay on the beach/ramp to protect your hull.
IF you want to use the Rhino Lining(or similar) apply it to just the 4 keels for about a foot or foot and a half where they would contact the ramp. but by NO MEANS apply it to the entire bottom. Jim

These ‘Black Ice’ or Teflon bottom products provide a 3/8” bonded layer of Ultra-High Molecular Weight (UHMW) polyethylene which can be used to either cover the most vulnerable areas of the hull or the entire hull (see featured image at the top of this page).

Polymer coatings may be clear or opaque and thus work exceptionally well as a type of protective “undercoat”. They form a chemical and mechanical bond with your boat’s hull that also protects the hull from staining, tarnishing and protects it from oxidative and environmental damage. more

Antifouling paint is a biologically active coating that prevents hull attachment of waterborne marine organisms that can degrade your hull. This type of paint also facilitates the removal of these organisms if your boat already has this problem.
