The law requires that all food handlers need to be trained according to their food handling work activities. Should an employee achieve a Highfield food safety qualification, which is suitable for the work they do, it will assist food business operators in proving that they have displayed due diligence and are therefore compliant in the eyes of the law.
On obtaining a Highfield food safety qualification, employees who handle food will gain a firm grasp of the importance of food hygiene and knowledge of the systems, techniques and procedures involved. Furthermore, those individuals that have successfully completed a food hygiene course will have the confidence and expertise to deliver quality food safely to customers.
Highfield's food safety qualifications are intended for anyone working in catering, hospitality or manufacturing settings where food hygiene is essential as food is prepared, cooked, served or produced. Typical environments may include pubs, hotels, restaurants, retail, factories, contract catering, fast-food outlets, hospitals, care and nursing homes, schools, prisons and the armed forces. [links]

How long will it take?
Learners gaining this qualification will know that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, cooking service and handling of food.

This role is given to the purchaser of 2 or more learner accounts. Group leader accounts have oversight over subordinate learner accounts, but can not be used for exam submissions.
The course covers food safety and bacteria in more detail and provides information on how you manage both the business and your team in vital areas such as the law, controlling bacteria and food threats, physical & chemical contamination, cleaning, pest & waste control, personal hygiene and food safety. It explains the importance of a Food Safety Management System inc. HACCP and how you would implement and manage this within the business. I was really happy with the course. It was very informative and really allowed me to expand my knowledge. There were diagrams and images that even would assist someone who is alien to the catering industry. It is very clear and highlights the legal framework around the subject area. It also shows appropriate and inappropriate practices. This clarifies previous misconceptions that laymen like myself had. I was overall extremely satisfied and would most certainly recommend the course for people from all walks of life.
We want you to get your pass certificate straight away and we also want to give you a great price on all our courses. For the Level 2 food hygiene course we do not print and post certificates as this would significantly increase the cost of the course to you which is not good news for anyone.
