The name of your ship can provide some clues about the type of experience you'll have on board. Those in the Spirit, Triumph and Fantasy classes are Carnival's oldest and smallest ships but are routinely updated to provide guests with plenty of modern conveniences and activities. Not all ships are created equal, though. For one thing, Carnival's newer ships – Dream, Magic, Breeze, Vista, Horizon and Panorama – are all able to accommodate more than 3,600 passengers. Most of the other ships in the fleet accommodate fewer than 3,000 people at once. In addition to larger crowds, the newer ships are known for their inventive, one-of-a-kind attractions like the SkyRide, a kind of bike ride that's suspended in the air over the ship's top deck. Newer ships also have features including IMAX theaters and elevated ropes courses.
