Perhaps best known as the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, Squaw Valley first opened its doors to winter-sports aficionados in 1949. Currently, the resort attracts more than 600,000 visitors per year, who come from all over the world to enjoy its 3,600 acres of ski-able terrain and 177 trails. The Village at Squaw is set at the foot of the slopes features dining, shopping and condos. When the snow melts, visitors enjoy activities such as hiking, golfing, horseback riding, and relaxing on the banks of nearby Lake Tahoe. Squaw Valley includes more than 15 residential subdivisions featuring a range of properties, from homes built in the 1950s to newer houses and condominiums. The true ski in ski out homes are located in the Village, The Squaw Valley Lodge, The Resort At Squaw Creek, with only 11 true ski in ski out homes lining the edge of the ski run under the gondola.
