I have verified that the evaporator has been cleaned with the nickel safe cleaner. Please pardon my ignorance before. I am question whether the cooling system is working properly. The compressor cycles on and off quite a bit. Seems like to often to me. Thanks for your patience.

@ Lynn I cleaned the evaporator again thoroughly with the nickel safe, blew it out and shined the light through it to confirm. It was clean. The ice thickness was set just at 1/8" so I adjusted it a little tighter. It has dropped 6 or so times and is running some short harvest (40) seconds and then some longer ones at 3.5 minutes. It has not shut off yet. I will check it in the morning to see if it is off or not. We’ll see.

Machine has been working great for almost two years (light use in a church). However, after last routine maintenance (every 6 months with Manitowoc cleaner/sanitizer), machine will not continually make ice. Machine is plugged in, one cycle completes and then it stops. Touch pad is non-responsive until I cycle power using plug. Please help. here

My Manitowoc QM45 is not making ice – water valve is leaking even when float is in off position…could this be the problem causing no ice?

Step #1: Locate the water pump and turn it off. It may be under the bed, under the sink or under the rig. here

Ok, this happens often — and it can feel like a terrible inconvenience, right when you’re ready to take off and go on a new year’s worth of adventures. If your water pump won’t turn on after winterizing, check the following things:

Now you are ready to install your new RV water pump. There are several kinds of pumps available on the market. Many highly recommend the Shurflo 2088-554-144 Fresh Water Pump for its high pressure and gallons per minute. Follow the instructions included with the new RV water pump. It will include using some form of pipe tape or thread to tighten the water line connections. Make sure you pay attention so that you put the in with the in and the out with the out. (Um, yep… This is kind of important!) more

A. First, let’s make sure that there is actually water in your freshwater tank. I know this seems really obvious, but it’s an easy thing to forget. Check the tank gauge. If your tank is empty, or even just low, your RV water pump will not work. (It needs something to pump!)

You might think that of all the shower pump issues to have, too much flow would be one of the better ones; yet too much flow can lead to several problems.

Firstly, you could be damaging the plumbing system. If the flow is noticeably too strong, this could be having an impact on the rest of the system.

Secondly, you could be wasting a lot of water. This could add serious £££ on your water bill.

Finally, you could be using stored hot water too fast. This may lead to severely angry members of your household. So, as you can imagine, it’s important to have the appropriate flow rate.

Solution

The best way to tackle this is to close the isolator valves on the outlet side of the pump down slightly - don’t restrict the flow on the inlet side of the pump.

One minute the pump is working fine, and the next the pump keeps turning itself off. This issue is often found in the higher end shower pumps. The pump detects a leak in the system and shuts down before causing further damage.

Solution

To fix this issue check for any visible leaks in the system. Make sure you inspect tap washers, pipe joints and connections. You may need to call a plumber to fix your leak.

If the mounting pad or pumpmat doesn’t solve your noise problem, then you will need to buy a new pump. The newer pumps by brands like Salamander, Grundfos and Stuart Turner offer innovative pump technology that can pump with little to no noise or vibration.

One of the most complained about shower pump problems is noise. Ranging from a constant rattle to loud bangs and even excessive vibrations, this is often due to the way the shower pump has been installed.

Solution

It’s important to ensure that anti-vibration feet are fitted, where supplied, and that the pump is on a firm platform. Try mounting the shower pump onto a concrete block, which will help absorb the vibrations and in turn, reduce the noise. You should also ensure that any pipework on either side of the pump is properly supported by clips, and bends in flexible hoses are kept to a minimum.
