Once players reach 75% favour, players with level 49 in Thieving can talk to Captain Khaled in the huge building south-east of the bank to get an assignment. Players will need a lockpick to pick the lock on the drawers, and they will have to avoid being caught by the patrolmen. A successful heist awards a few hundred coins, and 2% Piscarilius favour. In addition you earn 750 Thieving xp for successfully picking the lock and retrieving the artefact and additional Thieving xp equal to 40 times your thieving level for safely delivering the artefact to Captain Khaled. Note, if you logout or teleport after acquiring the artefact but before you safely deliver it you will report to Khaled that you lost the item and will have to get another task.

Port Piscarilius is one of the five cities in the Kingdom of Great Kourend. Led by Lady Shauna Piscarilius of the Piscarilius House, the city is a port primarily inhabited by fishermen who rely on the fishing industry for their source of income, in addition to overseas trade. All visitors from the mainland often come through here or Land's End.

It is recommended to collect fresh fish from the three barrels directly west of Frankie. Players can pick up around 20 fresh fish before they start disappearing (but you can do 25 if you are good at it). Players gain an average of 0.4% favour per delivery, and are granted some Fishing experience as well. here

What’s important here is that the fish’s body stays moist at all times. The slime or mucus layer coating the scales on all fishes is important for fighting off parasites and infections. If it dries out, it’s gone. It’s also best to get your hands wet before grabbing a fish so you don’t wipe the slime off. Never hold a fish with gloves on if you want it to survive long-term. If you need to fiddle with the exposure or try another angle for your shot, put that fish back in the water to breathe while the camera holder resets. here

The Dry Dock A devotion to only photographing fish while they’re partially submerged in the water has become prominent in some corners of the fly fishing community in recent years. It’s actually codified in law in some places for some species, like native steelhead in my home state of Washington. This “Keep ‘em Wet” movement is positive but not always practical. Say, if you’re in a boat, you must actually fight/handle that fish longer in order to get the angler and photographer out on the shore or shallows to pose the politically correct shot. It might be faster to just hoist that fish out of the net quickly, hit the shutter a couple times, and let the fish swim. here

This move is complicated by the fact that there is actually a good, healthy, and effective way to hold some fish like northern pike and muskie by gripping their jaw outside of the membrane that covers their gills. That might look similar to the full-on gill grab, so it’s incumbent on every angler to know the difference. more

The Jaw-Jacker Professional bass fishing on TV in the 1990s leaked a lot of bad behavior into the American fishing community. Holding a largemouth horizontally by only the lip may be among the more egregious habits we all learned back then. Tournament rules and practices have improved a lot since, yet this hold lingers. more

The Giller Through the gills has been a common and helpful way to hold fish for as long as humans have been fishing. It should be associated primarily with harvest, but many anglers miss that nuance. more

Never tie the hand line of the cast net on your wrist so it cannot be removed quickly and easily. You simply make a loop with the hand line so it stays on your wrist but is not secured. [links]

I can assure you that this is a “trick” you don’t want to attempt. Not only is it embarrassing but it’s dangerous as well! Nothing puts an end to a fun filled day of fishing like a fall into freezing cold water. [links]

Make sure your using the right tools for the job. That means having the correct cast net for the time of year you’ll be using it or the depth water you’ll be using it in.

Learning how to throw the net properly and get it to fully open is critical. Many people learn to throw a net but miss the critical part of getting the net to open fully. more

You need the net to open all the way in a “perfect circle” ideally, this way you are covering as much water as possible. If you use a seven foot cast net that only opens halfway when you throw it you’re no better off than you would be throwing a four foot cast net. more
