Re: Fuel System Issues after storage Mercury 115 h.p. 4-stroke here
Cute!! Two years ago it ran perfect in the tank before the outing, then would not start at the lake. Mechanics replaced hoses on the Fuel managemt system. I replaced the gasoline and the water seperator and it ran fine the rest tof the season. This year, it ran great on the "test run" and then crapped out a week later. Not surprizingly, it ran perfect at the mechanic shop after having to be towed in at night. At the lake it ran perfect for about an hour then without warning it stalled and would not run for more than a few seconds. Suspect fuel issues and/or deterioration of the fuel system components due to Alcohol fuel. There are virtually no places to buy non=alcohol fuel. Use fuel treatment religiously and replace filters regulalry. FRUSTRATING.
Although it could be a number of things worng causing this to happen First let me ask where the carbs ever removed inspected and cleaned? Sounds like the floats may be sticking at times leaving the float bowls empty when stopped or needle valves not seating flooding the engine out. The motor in general runs fine. It periodically seems to overload with gas flooding out the engine and fowling the plugs. In time it drys up and fires right up. I would think about having this looked into. Does the primer bulb get hard when squeezed?

This motor uses a Yamaha powerhead. Same one as the F115 up to 2006 if not mistaken.
You can do some searching in the Yamaha/Suzuki section archives
There's another filter that is on the high pressure fuel pump that is located in the VST (vapor separating tank) that needs to be serviced.
If you are getting low fuel pressure, this filter may need cleaning.
To access the VST you will have to remove the intake assembly.
At this point, I would highly recommend getting the factory service manual to help you out [links]
Why do people insist on continuing to run motors that arent running correctly. "it wasnt running right, and now, lately its running worse".DO NOT run more than absolutely necessary to diagnose and fix the problem. The EASIEST way to get into the market for a new motor is to run the one you have while having issues.Contrary to popular belief(and i dont know how it ever got started)running issues do not "work themselves out"by running more.Like said,BASICS first.Compression, spark, fuel delivery. more
It's a good idea to check your compression to rule that out.
I think that you are having a fuel delivery issue. here
If fuel pressure remains steady throughout the testing then you will need to order the OEM Service Manual to begin testing the ignition system. Any weakness of the ignition will limit power and RPM while under load.

Another way to prevent getting this page in the future is to use Privacy Pass. You may need to download version 2.0 now from the Chrome Web Store.
