I may well be crazy, but isn't my engine serial (0W018920) actually "below" the serial # indicated (0M642775 & up) for that part. The Merc site says that the part for "0M642775 & below" is no longer available. Am I missing something. here

Recommended Oil Mercury Marine, the manufacturer of the 4.3L MerCruiser engine, specifies that the owner use Mercury MerCruiser Full-Synthetic Engine Oil, 20W-40, with a NMMC EC-W rating. This specific oil is recommended by the company for all MerCruiser engines, including the 4.3L. more
Re: Mercruiser 5.0 water drain plugs One under each manifold, one on each side of the engine block and one in the front of the engine below the water pump.
Furthermore, where is the engine block drain plug?
Place a drain pan under the petcock of the radiator located on the driver's side of the radiator at the bottom. Open the petcock and drain the coolant from the radiator and cooling lines of the engine. When the coolant is no longer flowing, close the petcock.
