My first option is to install stainless screws with sealant into the deck. Has this worked for anyone. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Again, though, a picture or type of boat this is going in would really help a lot. [links]

Engel's Tie-Down Strap Kit contains everything a skipper needs, including straps and buckles, deck plates and screws. Premium-quality components are saltwater tough and designed to handle the humidity, salt and spray encountered every day at sea. Deck plates and cam buckles are made of 316 stainless steel, a chromium-nickel alloy that provides superior resistance to corrosion in saltwater conditions. Straps are made of tightly-woven polyethylene to endure season after season of wet and damp conditions and are resistant to UV damage from the sun. Cam buckles hold securely, yet easily release when it's time to move the cooler.

Fishermen today challenge the seas in all kinds of vessels, from flats skiffs to powerful center console boats, all the way up to multi-million dollar adventure yachts. But regardless of the kind of boat, top skippers have certain things in common, like battling rough sea conditions and dealing with the harsh effects of sun and salt water, not to mention keeping their catch fresh on ice in an Engel DeepBlue cooler. more
