2006 Mathews Brothers Robbins 40 Not commissioned until late 2007, "Check Six" is a beautiful custom-built Chesapeake Bay deadrise designed by Cecil Robbins and built by Mathews Brothers, LLC of Denton, MD. The Robbins deadrise design is well-known around the Bay for offering a very soft ride in a chop, stability in a beam-sea, and exceptional fuel efficiency. "Check Six" was custom built for the current owner, and is one of the finest boats built by the respected Mathews Brothers yard. She has the sturdy hull of a true work-boat, and the interior of a fine yacht. Inexpensive to operate and maintain, she cruises an easy 18 knots while burning only 15 gallons per hour (@ 1.33 NM per gallon) with her single low-hour (230 hours) Yanmar 480 hp powerplant, and tops out at @ 24 knots. She has an enormous cockpit with 2nd steering station, electric-lift engine box with cushions, two fish boxes, cockpit overhang, transom door, swim platform, cockpit shower, cockpit U-line refrigerator with ice maker, rod holders, and a large cooler with cushioned seating. The interior is "yacht-finished" and includes a single stateroom forward with centerline berth, split-head layout with Vacu-flush to starboard and dedicated shower to port, open salon arrangement with dinette and galley to port, main helm and convertible settee to starboard, and a beautiful high-gloss teak and holly sole throughout. Other notable features include: Vetus Bow Thruster, FLIR night vision system, electronic single-lever controls, 9kw genset, Raymarine E120 electronics package, remote spotlight, ship's computer with Dell monitor (linked to Nav system, cable, and DVD player), Kenwood stereo system, 2-zone air conditioning system, dual racors, 4 new AGM batteries, Xantrex Inverter system, bench-style Stidd helm chair with electronic adjustment, anchor windlass, and so much more. Please see "full specs" for complete description. "Check Six" is a very diverse boat in that she can be seriously cruised (perfect "Great Loop" boat), fished (although she has never been put to task), or day-tripping with a group of guests. She is as beautiful as she is functional. Very well done!

Starboard engine replaced in 2008 with reman Cat 3208 to match port engine This 2001 Chesapeake 48 is ready to go to work for commercial charters or just a unique pleasure boat. Stock #121589 Turn Key 48ft Chesapeake Deadrise with Twin CAT's (435 HP each) & Ready to Work ! This 2001 Chesapeake 48 deadrise boat was built by Chesapeake Boats in Crisfield, Maryland, Powered by twin CAT 3208's producing 435 HP each ! From the www.ChesapeakeBoats.com website "Prior to Captain John Smith's arrival on the Chesapeake Bay (1607) and continuing on to today, waterman on the Bay apply their boat building heritage and tradition of skilled craftsmanship. From hulls first developed by Native Americans to creating current "state of the art" hulls of fiberglass and high-tech composites - the tradition lives on. These qualities of craftsmanship and tradition are embodied in every custom-crafted boat built by David Mason and his staff at Chesapeake Boats, Inc., located on the lower Eastern Shore, in Crisfield, Maryland. David Mason will customize the complete design and construction of your boat to your specifications. He will start with the hull, drawing on either a Down East style "Lobster Boat" design well known and highly regarded in New England and the Maine Coast; or, his specialty, a Chesapeake Bay-built design based on the classic Deadrise hull so well known and recognized on the Bay. Both of these designs are based on traditional "workboats" and have evolved to today's crafts which can be adapted for either commercial or personal use. The Deadrise design was first developed around 1880. David Mason uses the traditional Deltaville Chesapeake Deadrise design that has been the standard, on the Bay, for more than fifty (50) years. The angle of the hull from the keel to the chine is known as the Deadrise. This design provides for a sharp angle at the bow to cut through Bay waters. The angle flattens out as you move aft, towards the stern, to provide added stability while underway or at anchor. The design also allows for a shallow draft, making it ideal for the Chesapeake Bay. The evolution of today's Bay-built design provides all of the original characteristics, with the added advantages of a greater beam, more flare at the bow, fiberglass construction, diesel power options to fit any situation, the latest in electronics and communication equipment, heat, air conditioning, bow thrusters and custom joinery, plus individual design and interior layout capability to meet your requirements and dreams." This 2001 Chesapeake 48 would make a fine commercial fishing charter boat, dive boat, or someone interested in a deadrise style boat for personal use. This is a glass over wood hull. Plenty of deck space for all your needs. Spacious cabin equipped with a center positioned helm with a full array of gauges and a commanding view of the water.
