I shouldn't be allowed to operate power tools anymore, but whatever. I was mowing my yard when I hit a piece of hidden wood. A piece of wood jammed against the side of the lawnmower and the blade, which required me to flip it on its side and dislodge the chunk of wood. After I removed the wood, I put the mower back into its right position and took a break (It's hot out..). After my 45-minute break, I went to start it to finish cutting and it was belching out white smoke, and leaking and spitting oil out of the muffler. My father and I took a look at it finding nothing, but I took off the air filter cover and there was also an oily residue in there, more than normal. What could be wrong with it?

Carburetor shut off not working. Drain the oil, pull the spark plug and let the gas evaporate. Put an inline shutoff on the gas line

Could a clogged or old oil filter, cause a car to jerk when taking off and blow a big puff of smoke ? Not ever time. Just after driving 100km for atleast 30km or more here

This means that when you step on the gas pedal, your acceleration will be reduced or even nonexistent. As you continue to let this problem go unfixed, the performance will only get worse.

Just a guess, but could be valvetrain noise. In some vehicles, the timing chain rattles on startup during normal operation. Check to make sure the engine oil is topped up and bring it to a local shop if the rattle sounds expensive. [links]

Like your air filter or fuel filter, your oil filter can clog up if left in there too long. When an engine air filter gets clogged, you will usually only notice when you accelerate hard or visit the gas station, as your performance and fuel economy will suffer.

You could grab a mechanic’s stethescope and see if you can pin down where the knock is coming from. Can you tell if it is a top end or bottom end noise?

Any strange vibrations or sounds coming from the engine should be reduced after the second startup with this additive in your oil. more

The main benefit of Sea Foam is that it works to remove contaminants, gum, and varnish deposits from the engine. If this is an older engine which has over 200,000 miles on it, the Sea Foam additive will give it a power boost. Most importantly, it will quiet the engine down from knocking so much.
