I ran the engine for about 60 miles and pulled the oil, since I used a fair share of moly on the mains and any other crud that got knocked loose. Oil is cheap, long life engines are totaly worth it! [links]

I definately dont care for oil pressure that does that while under load. more
The oil pan was absolutly spotless from sludge..good oil changes and lotsa hiway miles. Its previous life must have been good to it too! ( I have had it for 2 years..since 179,000 miles) [links]
I'd install a mechanical gauge and retest it.
My brother had the problem with his '89, he asked me and I said it sounds like the oil pump or maybe the pick up fell off. He's no mechanic but he pulled off the oil pump job only to have the same problem.
The guy at autozone suggested replacing the sender. that solved the problem. My brother said it took a whole weekend to do the oil pump and 5 minutes to change the sender but at least I have a new oil pump now. ooops here
