A 15-minute, two-part adhesive and filler system that eliminates the need for welding or brazing. Once cured, it can be drilled, sanded, painted or filed. Resists most automotive, shop and cleaning fluids. Withstands temperatures to 300°F intermittent. Over 3,000 PSI shear strength on steel.

Eliminates dangerous welding. Complete kit contains everything required for making professional-quality permanent repairs in just minutes. Includes state-of-the-art components and easy-to-follow instructions with photographs to make quick permanent repairs to leaks in all types of metal fuel tanks. It repairs cracks up to 4” (10cm) long and holes up to 3/8” (9mm) in diameter. Repair will be complete when the resin cures in 30 minutes. Tank may be refilled after 30 minutes or when the repair is tack free. The repair resin is designed to harden within 8 – 10 minutes and cures in 30 minutes. Repairs can be made ideally at temperatures from 50°F to 75°F (10°C to 24°C). Repairs made at lower temperatures will take longer to cure. Where can you use it?
This Bonding Compound is resistant to fuels and solvents, and is able to withstand temperatures of up to 148°C, and over 3,000 PSI (on steel). The Cold Weld Bonding Compound can be used with aluminium, steel, brass, bronze, castings, and stampings.

It may be weldable as it does not involve any bearing surfaces, etc, but there is always the fear of heat distortion in trying to weld + plus the case would need to be completely disassembled to do so. [links]

Has anyone successfully patched a hole in their outdrive case, using a cold patch compound? My friend has an MR drive that has a hole in the forward bullet end of the lower case. Someone else made a pretty sloppy looking patch that has functioned for some time but appears to be weeping a small amount of moisture into the case.
