I've tried velcro on my new seat covers. It doesn't work. more

I think I'm done fighting with snaps and want the Easy button. Does anyone have experience with using velcro vs snaps for holding your mooring cover in place? I'm not interested in trailering, just for either at the dock or on the trailer. I have a nice factory cover with bimini cutouts and maybe 731 snaps going all the way around. It doesn't look like there is much chance for wind to get underneath so I'm wondering if it would be an option to replace the snaps with velcro.

If you purchase most modern nylon or synthetic-plastic pontoon boat covers, you probably won’t have to worry about this. [links]

The only thing we didn’t like so much is the dingy grey color. If aesthetics aren’t important to you, though, then the Vortex Ultra 3 is a little bit cheaper than the Budge and offers almost identical quality.

Remember to keep the key considerations in mind and think about where and how you’ll be storing your pontoon boat as this will be a major decider of what cover you end up selecting.

Why, then, would you purchase a ‘toon boat for far more money and not take the most basic, affordable step to increase its lifespan? You want to keep it in good condition year-round and decrease the amount of maintenance that you have to do at the beginning of each warm season! more

The high quality covers will be able to be used for years before they start to show signs of wear and tear. Cheaper pontoon covers, on the other hand, may start flaking, fading, or developing holes after just a year of constant exposure to sunlight. [links]

A mooring cover is often the boat cover of choice for off-season storage due to the full protection it offers. When boats are stored outside or in covered places, a mooring cover can protect the interior of the boat from not only rain, snow and dirt, but also can protect the gel coat from UV fading.

When requesting a quote for a mooring cover, be sure to check the appropriate boxes for the options and accessories on your boat to ensure the mooring cover is an exact fit.

Mooring covers can also be used for trailering if it has been specifically constructed for that purpose. When designed for trailering, mooring covers are often constructed with additional soft padding on the underside of the cover at high wear areas like the pointed parts of the windshield and any corners. Many aftermarket universal Mooring Coverfitting boat covers and even some custom boat covers are not designed for trailering and can do damage to your boat either due to rubbing the gel coat or flapping in the wind. Also, the boat cover will not last as long because it will wear through at the areas without reinforcement.
