This is a beautiful, one owner Ranger R-27 tug style trawler. The vessel has very low original hours and priced tens of thousands below a similarly equipped new one.
With a very low 200 reported hours she is ready to head out. A cruising speed of 12-15 and a fuel consumption of 3-4 gph gives you a tremendous range with plenty of reserve. more
We're sorry to see this one go but check out some other options below.

I did a software update using Active Captain at our first port of call and had no further problems on the next four legs of our trip. The problem reoccurred on the last leg, which was the same leg as the first, except in reverse. Got the same message on the chart plotter and the the boat again ran circles when I went back to the starting point of the route. After about a third of our way home, I did the full reboot. I was able to have the autopilot follow a route that was about two thirds of the way from our home port and it worked fine.
Here’s a warning from the owners manual. What is your heading source set to? more

Completely puzzled: 1. Reboot didn't work the first time, but worked the last. 2. Software update seemed to work, but the problem reoccurred. 3. GPS and autopilot appeared to be working fine, but independent of each other when the problem occurred.

I have been through a shadow drive failure and valve replacement so I have a bit of experience with it and maybe can help. here
No, I did not get the shadow drive message at 50% sensitivity after the new valve was installed. I got the message appropriately before the valve replacement but don't know what the sensitivity was then. I called Kenny at Ranger Tugs and he suggested setting it to 75%. That did the trick. You may have to go even higher. Take it all the way up to 100% and see what happens. The quicker and harder you turn the wheel the more likely for it to engage. Give it a yank and a full turn.
What type of steering cylinder is installed on Cutwaters ? I removed the aft seat to inspect the rudder log and grease it and inspected the cylinder . My memory says it is unbalanced ( my memory is not good) Can anyone verify that ? If it is unbalance there is a block that is to be installed on the pump to help balance the hydraulic oil flow. My pump doesn't have it installed. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the Shadow drive but it is supposed to be installed. more
