Tiziana, the classic 1963 Abeking & Rasmussen ketch sailing yacht, has been listed for sale with Camper & Nicholsons for an asking price of €4.9 million.
She was built to a design by Sparkman & Stephens, a firm unrivalled at the time, with countless sailing accolades and an extensive design database – a suitable collaboration for the German yard, which focused on building ‘legendary sailing yachts’ in this era.
In 2005/2006 – after assembling a highly experienced team of Bill Langan of Sparkman & Stephens and Jens Cornelsen, a former captain and project manager of some 45 builds – the current owner took Tiziana for a restoration at Vitters Shipyard.

The M60 engine powering the yacht is built by MTU. She is driven by a single screw propeller. The engine of the ship gives 450 horse power (or 331 kilowatts). She is fitted with 1 engines. The combined power for the boat is thus 450 HP or 331 KW. The bow thrusters are Schottel.
Sparkman & Stephens was the naval architect firm involved in the technical nautical design work for TIZIANA. Also the company Sparkman & Stephens successfully collaborated on this venture. Built by Abeking & Rasmussen Yachts (Schiffs-Und Yachtwerft ) this yacht was completed in the country of Germany. She was officially launched in Lemwerder in 1963 before being handed over to the owner. Her hull was constructed with steel. The sailing yacht main superstructure is fabricated extensively with teak. With a beam of 7.59 metres or 24.9 feet TIZIANA has moderate room. She has a fairly deep draught of 3.17m (10.4ft). She had refit improvement and alteration work completed by 2006.
Luxury sailing yacht Tiziana can accommodate up to ten guests in four double cabins and one twin cabin and all cabins have their own private ensuite bathrooms. In each cabin there is a flat screen TV and BOSE system and guests can choose their own move or music from a large library stored in each computer. more

The cockpit is the main feature of the yacht (see photo below) – it is covered by a large bimini (which also has roll down sides with windows) and it enables the guests to be able to be outside even in not-so-perfect weather! The cockpit has high seatbacks so it is a contained structure providing protection. It also has two beautiful teak dining tables which can be lowered and covered with cushions to be a large sunbathing area. There are also further mattresses on top of the salon roof so there are plenty of places to sit back and relax and enjoy the sun and the sailing. more
