Again, Now I am wonder if it was weeds or not. As I said the water was hot when coming out, but I did not get the overheat alarm. The last run with the boat we were trying for quite sometime to get what I thought was weeds out to no avail.

Today we were out in our seadoo challenger. The lake was quite weedy and a few times sucked them up but was able to work them out. Was unable to work out what I assumed was weeds so we pulled it out of the water. When unplugging the plug the water from the engine compartment can out and it was hot. It was draining for a long time, when I lifted the hood and looked in there and there was allot of water in the compartment. more

(1) To my knowledge it isn't uncommon for the boat to take on "some" water, but it shouldn't take on as much that you have described. Typically the little bit of water it might take on the auto-bilge should take care of. I would take it to your dealer to have it looked at as soon as possible, it could be that you have some faulty seals or drain plugs. more

All of the gauges, horn, etc worked, but the engine wouldn't turn over. I assumed the battery was low and opened the engine compartment to take a look. To my surprise, the ENTIRE engine compartment was full of water. The water was even covering the top of the engines. I then pulled open the storage hatch in the floor and it too was full of water. We immediately had a friend pull us to the ramp where we trailered it and opened the drain plug which was completely screwed in. It took what seemed like 30 min for all of the water to drain. I have always read that when leaving the water it is good practice to fire up the engines for a few seconds to drain any remaining water. I tried to fire them up a couple of times, but they would not even turn over.

We took our '98 Speedster to the lake for the weekend and had a blast. We decided to leave it tied up at the dock overnight, the first time ever, instead of trailering and relaunching the next day. However, the next morning the boat wouldn't start.

It was in my driveway after that waiting to tow it south. I did run water from a hose directly into floor drain and it all came out of hole in stern and no leaks in engine compartment so that is good. I can't believe the amount of water that could only then get in there through the ski locker and cup holders. It's easy enough to leave the drains out. I had to trailer it (for repair) for 3 hours and was concerned the drain plugs would fall out on the way home because it looks like it is just a 1" piece of plastic holding it in there. more
