I agree with Mike in checking the fuel tank venting..
I did not experience a problem running.. My biggest vent problem was filling up the tank.. I won't bore you with the details but one day when it warmed up.. the fuel expanded and cleaned out the vent.. seems that spiders had made a home in the vent opening..
After that, I have not had problems filling up the tank again..
Something else to look at anyway..
Thanks for the responses. The vent cap is fine and the flow from the boat tank through the Racor is OK as I put in a short section of clear vinyl gas line and see no bubbles. In addition, it occasionally runs great. I too am tired of paying so much to clean this when it reoccurs. When I first purchased the new engine, it stopped running properly and the dealer found many metal chips in the system. They must have been there from manufacturing as I do not see how any could pass the Racor however it was not covered under warranty. I have had the system cleaned 2 times since then and would like to learn how to do it and save some time and money to haul it to a service shop. The manual explains the testing and removal of the high pressure pump, however I was hoping to avoid quite so much work until I have checked out any other easy items. more

This product it a life saver. Kawasaki won't sell just the fuel pump, they want to sell the entire contraption, the housing, the little metal bowl and the float, everything, when the fuel pump is really the only part that can fail. And in Australia they want $800AUD for this item. The Quantum pump is a fraction of this cost. and the best thing is how easy it is to fit. It's exactly the same as the OEM Kawasaki pump. It's plug and play. It could be the easiest part i've ever fit to a car or bike ever! Thank you Quantum Fuel Systems you saved me heaps of money and got my bike ZX10 back on the road. more
this parts was a very good quality, but not just a plug and play unit, you have to make some modification and the output fuel and the filter does not fit the inside original pump holder. there is no installation diagram inside the box.
hi <br />try this if not done allready; if you have a main battery switch, get a jumpercable and put between the connectors, this is a usual problem, OR, there is a valve, IAC that needs to be adjusted, but you cant do this without computer & software -dealer only.. this valve gives the right amount of air when in idel/startup. look at axmarin.nu/temp/df4050_vapor.jpg for a picture of the vapor separator, open the screw "10" and fuel / water will drain out of hose "7", vapor sep., is located behind the air intake on the side of the engine. make sure your electric fuel pump is coming on. it will come on for a few seconds every time the key is turned on. if you got water in the system you could have ruined it.

Hi Tom,<br /><br />Did you check to make sure you are getting spark? Take one of the spark plugs out and then connect it to the plug wire and see if you can get it to arc to the engine block, or a screw driver. Even though the engine is appears to be cranking over, perhaps your stater soleniod is on its way out. If you are getting spark try jumping the stater.<br /><br />Hope this helps. <br /><br />-Craig
